For those who receive the Post 9/11 Basic Housing Allowance:
During this difficult time, we have worked with Congress to preserve GI Bill benefits for those impacted by COVID-19. The Senate and House passed S.3503. The bill is headed to the President to sign, which will give VA the authority to continue GI Bill payments uninterrupted in the event of national emergencies.

The new law allows the VA to pay education benefits regardless of the fact your program has changed from resident training to online training.

Also, you will continue to receive the same monthly housing allowance payments you received for resident training until Monday, December 21, 2020, or until the school resumes normal operations of resident training. We are working to immediately implement the new changes.

Mental health support will be available through U.S. Vets (the nation's largest nonprofit provider of comprehensive services to homeless and at-risk veterans). Please contact Justina Wong at Tuesday through Thursday.

As the central hub for our veterans program, the Citrus College Veterans Success Center offers a wide array of services to our student veterans.

The Veterans Success Center provides a relaxing place for them to meet, receive the latest veteran benefits information, coordinate with the Veterans Network (club), hold workshops, meet with veterans service organizations, and allows the staff to more easily manage the veterans services from one central location.

All are welcome to checkout the center anytime. See how we treat our brave men and women who have served our great nation in war and in peace. We stand ready to help those who have served transition back to civilian life.
